our STORY

Brush & Banter began as a tiny idea somewhere between becoming a mum and realising that adults don’t get enough chances to make things simply because it feels good. So I took the leap, swapped the “sensible career plan” for paint-covered aprons, and created a space where people could reconnect with creativity — no pressure, no perfection, just pure vibes.

What started as pop-up paint nights quickly grew, and one year later we opened Derry’s newest Creative Studio: a haven for workshops, private events, bookish crafting, community programmes, and slow, cosy creativity (and reading) in The Nook.

It’s a place to switch off, show up exactly as you are, and leave feeling lighter — no matter what brings you in. At Brush & Banter, we believe everyone is an artist (even the ones who swear they’re not). There’s no “right,” no “wrong,” and no secret talent required — just good banter, good company, and the reminder that you’re allowed to create things purely because it feels brilliant.
